Diversity Initiative
NYSPA is committed to the support of the state’s Diversity Initiative. To this end NYSPA has supported a fully funded Diversity Delegate to the APA State Leadership Conference for the past few years. Through this initiative, NYSPA aims to enhance the diversity resources available to its members. Consistent with the mission of the CSL Diversity Initiative Subcommittee, NYSPA is also committed to the development of leadership among its diverse members and increase opportunities for the development of a diversity agenda.

APA Practice Directorate State Leadership Conference
The State Leadership Conference is an annual event sponsored by the APA Practice Directorate and its Committee for the Advancement of Professional Practice (CAPP) to promote advocacy in support of the practice of psychology. Each State Association brings a delegation of leaders to participate in the various activities throughout the course of four days culminating with all delegations visiting representatives in Congress during the last day of the event.
The Committee of State Leaders (CSL), the committee responsible of organizing the event has four subcommittees: the Advocacy Mentoring, Award, Presidents-Elect Orientation & Training, and the Diversity Initiative.
The Annual APA State Leadership Conference is an important and unique opportunity to:

- Meet key APA Staff
- Advance the recognition of your SPTA as a leading Association
