This program is key to NYSPA's work because we feel that a face to face meeting is the most effective way to communicate with the legislators. In addition, it allows NYSPA to incorporate our members into our work and further educates legislators on our positions on issues. Plus, it can be a lot of fun!
Whether you are an experienced advocate or brand new to the legislative process, this program can help make your visits easy and effective. Come down to the Capitol and meet your legislators.
NYSPA staff and lobbyists will prepare you for all of your meetings with legislators and equip you with a toolkit of information, position papers, talking points and packets for your meetings. Breakfast and Lunch will also be provided.
Dinner on May 8 and Breakfast on May 9 will also be provided.

*NYSPA Members must reserve their accommodations directly with The Desmond and secure with their credit card. The bill will be paid by NYSPA at checkout. NYSPA will cover room rate only; members are responsible for any ancillary charges. Members must cancel outside of 24 hours or they will be charged the $133 room rate and NYSPA will not be responsible for the costs. No other travel costs will be covered by NYSPA.

New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) joins the American Psychological Association (APA), several State, Territorial and Provincial Associations (STPAs), and other psychological and mental health associations in its strong condemnation of President Trump’s Executive Order 13769 signed January 27, 2017, pertaining to immigration, national security, and border security. The United States, and especially New York State, has been and remains a land built on the promise of diversity and inclusion.
